I love your broken color technique Pat! Very nice work! Did you use a palette knife?
Thanks, Hilda. I just used a brush, but I think I have gel or sculpting medium in the under layer. This was an acrylic piece. I've been drifting back to oil again. I tried cold wax to get some texture with oil, but not sure I like the final "look". We artists just keep trying, don't we!
There's something quite sinister about this painting to me, like the branches could be interpreted as long spindly hands maybe? Either way it's beautiful!
Hopefully, there won't be too many of those branches in your "Life's Journey". lol
Oh Pat! My favorite color palette. This piece is very mysterious...wish you would do a large one - so many avenues to explore within and around the branches! Applause! Super!
The name 'life's journey' is interesting, I'm not sure if I can gather its relation to the painting itself, I'd love to hear more as to why it is called that?
The title reflects my artistic "journey" of going from realism to abstraction. The abstraction being the most difficult for me. But, evolving to the point where I no longer fear the process.
