I just drove by an open field today and saw at least seven bluebirds. You've really captured this little guy perfectly, Pat.
Sorry I missed the reception at Art & Soul today - for the past few years we have been having the Pine School Studio Christmas party in March, so I was at a party with all of my students.
I was so impressed with the work I saw going into the show when I was there Thursday!
What a gorgeous bird, Pat! You seem to have been able to capture all those beautiful feather lines that I haven't a clue how to capture without ruining the piece. Great contrast with the wood beneath the bird too. Beautiful painting, as always.
Claire, only a creative artist can think of having a Christmas party in March. It sounds like fun. Loved your painting at the exhibit. It got a lot of interest.
Autumn, I don't really have as many lines in there as it seems...it's magic! Seriously...a lot of them developed as I was blocking in the larger shapes; I dragged some of the light color into the dark and some of the dark color into the light. Now, if I were to try it again, I may not be so lucky. LOL
Hi Pat...Your delightful little bluebird is perched happily over at Windows to the Words Art, posted and linked. Thanks so much for sharing your talent. This one is super.
Thanks so much, James. The bird photos and paintings were just the thing needed to lead us into spring. They sure are popping their blue heads out in this area of the world...and, we are sure glad to see them.
Pat, your little bluebird is wonderful! He makes me smile! Love the way he fills the space!
Thanks, Rosemary, a little harbinger of spring....I hope! The thought makes me smile too.
