"Roof Top Voyeur" is the painting I sent to Karin Jurick for the DSFDF Roof Tops challenge . I thought by putting in the pigeon, I would have less building tops to worry about. LOL I feel that I need to put in the window sill to the right, however, I'm now out of space. I thought the pigeon's neck would be enough to direct the eye back into the painting, but I still feel like I'm going to fall out of the canvas. Maybe some sheer curtains? Or, maybe a diptych? This clearly speaks 'city', Pat! I have never seen rooftoops without pigeons somewhere - and this little guy peeking in the window is hilarious! LOVE IT!!!
I love you pigeon, Pat! (honestly I love animals more then building in general! :-)))
Good composition.
Thanks Claire and Tatiana, for your nice comments. I can see why these are called challenges.
Hi Pat, good take on the challenge. He's looking for snacks.
Thanks, Mark. I should have put those cupcakes crumbs on the inside sill.
I thought this was wonderful as soon as I saw it over on the DS blog, Pat. What a great "bird's eye view!" That pigeon is phenomenal and a stroke of genius for this challenge. Please leave as is!! I think it is just perfect!!
Awesome idea to add the pigeon- love the painting.
Thanks Priti. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Pat, I love it! As you showed us with the cupcake, your creativity is over the top! Congrats on a unique challenge entry! I agree with AutumnLeaves - don't change a thing!
Thank you Autumn and Rosemary, I'll take your suggestions and leave it as is. I had it over at the gallery at last night's reception and was told the same. They liked the idea of putting a cupcake wrapper and some cake crumbs on the inside sill. LOL
Perfect addition to the challenge, it says "city life" in any city you can name!
You're right Ann, he sure does typify "city life". An interesting subject to paint.
Great interpretations for DSFDF.
Thanks, dominique, I'm glad you liked it.
You're so CLEVER!
Thanks, Becky, glad you enjoyed it.
