This award winning painting was done plein aire at Elk Neck State Park in Cecil County, Maryland. The Elk Neck River and Chesapeake Bay help form this park. Congratulations for your award on this painting, Pat! It is truly lovely. I love the sense of motion I see in it...winds blowing a bit? A beautiful scenic spot indeed! Hoping that 2010 is a wonderful year for you and your family too!

Ooops, Pat, I almost missed this one! Nice. I wish someday to see you doing Plein Air in pastels... didn't have a chance to observe you working with them yet... I guess on the day when it will happen, I will grab my box of oils and brushes! :-)
No, seriously - it would be very nice to paint together in pastels some day. This particular one is reminding me works of Pete...
Check it out, similar pallet and something else, what hard to describe...

Autumn, when I won that award, the person who went around with the juror told me he said that my painting looked like it was dancing. I told you you had a good eye.

I'll take you up on painting with pastels plein aire, Tatiana. I sort of backed off using them in the studio because of my asthma. However, outside shouldn't give me too much trouble unless the wind blows in my direction.LOL I will check out Pete's website..thanks for sharing.
