Flowers and Watering Can - acrylic floral still life painting on slate by Pennsylvania Contemporary Artist Pat Koscienski

Flowers and Watering Can
12" x 7"
Acrylic on slate
Sold

This was a first for me...painting on slate.  It was a commission for a friend who hangs this piece outside of her house beneath her name.  The photo shows the slate laying on my studio carpet.  My only concern was how the acrylic paint was going to hold up in cold weather.  I did apply UV varnish to give it protection against fading, however, I would sure hate to see the paint craze when those temperatures drop.  If you have any questions, contact PAT.  If you would like to see more of my paintings, both representational and abstract, please visit my website at:

Lavender Blue - Acrylic palette knife floral abstract painting by Pennsylvania Contemporary Artist Pat Koscienski

"Lavender Blue"
9" x 12"
Acrylic on canvas
This painting was done ala prima using texturized acrylic paint and a palette knife. It started off as a nonobjective abstract for this month's DPP challenge. However, I started to see some flowers on a mountain side and decided to stay with that. I did not stop to photograph different stages for fear of breaking that right brain period that I was in. If you have any questions or wish to purchase, contact PAT. If you wish to see more of my paintings, both abstract and representational, please visit my website at:

Grand Opening

Mixed Media on Canvas

Grand Opening was painted for Lela Stankovic's Paint and Draw Together Challenge. A Tulip Portrait was the subject for May. The tulip itself was painted with acrylics and I used the new Atelier Interactive, but for the background I used inks. I wanted to keep the background dark, but still have some color and design. Queen Anne's Lace - Acrylic Plein Aire Floral Landscape Painting by Pennsylvania Daily Painter Pat Koscienski

Queen Anne's Lace
12" x 6"
Acrylic on Canvas
Queen Anne's Lace was painted plein air along the Yellow Breeches Creek, McCormick Road, Lisburn, Pa. The Creek was so muddy from a rain the night before, that I had to pick a subject that didn't involve too much water. This made for a nice composition. If you have any questions or wish to purchase, contact Pat at patsfineart@hotmail.com If interested in seeing more of my paintings, please visit my website at www.patkoscienski.com
