Abstract paintings exhibiting at Trinity Lutheran Church - by Pennsylvania Painter Pat Koscienski
These are 6 of the 19 paintings I have exhibiting at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 2000 Chestnut Street, Camp Hill, Pa during the month of August. The photograph is distorting the 2 painting on the left and a lot of window light is reflecting off the 2 lower right paintings. But, it gives my blog visitors some idea what the exhibit is offering. If you have any questions, or wish to purchase, contact PAT. If you would like to see more of my paintings, both abstract or representatonal, please visit my website at:

Field Stone Meadows - original acrylic impressionistic landscape painting by Pennsylvania Painter Pat Koscienski
This Sunday, April 1, marks the formal opening of the Preserved Lands Exhibit at York Art Association. YAA has partnered with the Farm and Natural Lands Trust of York County, and will be featuring landscape paintings of York County's Preserved Lands by 30 local artists. I was invited to paint Art Glatfelter's Field Stone Meadows Horse Farm. After touring and photographing this beautiful property on a gator driven by Sherri Becker in July, 2011, I chose to paint this scene using a photo as reference. The painting depicts both the roughness of the land and the beauty and softness of its crop.
The reception is from 2:00 to 4:00 on Sunday, April 1, at YAA, 220 S Marshall St, York, PA. Please stop by if you are in the area. The exhibit will be on display until April 22.
If you have any questions, or wish to purchase, contact PAT. 50% of the sale will go to the artist, 25% to YAA, and 25% to the Natural Lands Trust; this applies until April 22.

Kiwi Delight - acrylic palette knife still life painting of a kiwi by Pennsylvania Painter Pat Koscienski
This painting was done for Lela Stankovic's challenge on Paint and Draw Together Blogspot. It was quite a challenge using just the knife. I used a sculpting compound in my acrylic paint in an attempt to get some of the texture of the kiwi and the juiciness of the flesh. If you have any questions about this painting or wish to purchase, contact PAT. If you would like to see more of my paintings, abstract, landscape, portrait, still life, wildlife, please visit my website at:

Early Morning Retreat - Acrylic Impressionistic Landscape Palette Knife Painting by Pennsylvania Painter Pat Koscienski
Acrylic on board
Palette Knife
This painting was done using a photograph I had taken when painting on a farm off Wertzville Road in Mechanicsburg, PA. There was a large man-made pond on the farm, but this little pool of water was so much more natural and appealing. I used palette knife and sculpting medium for this painting. If you have any questions, or wish to purchase, contact PAT. Top of the Pecking Order - acrylic ACEO impressionistic rooster painting by Pennsylvania Painter Pat Koscienski
This aceo card of a rooster was done for Jennifer Neslund who is the administrative assistant and exhibit coordinator for Carlisle Arts Learning Center (CALC) in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. She will be exhibiting Fred and Fiona, and 2 other paintings of roosters and hens from the middle of March to the middle of April at CALC. Other artists have been painting aceo's and atc's for her to display as a "hen house" or other display she may creatively come up with. I am presently working on a larger version of this fellow, since he looks to be quite a strutter. If interested in seeing more of my paintings, please look through my blogspot and visit my website at:

Palette Knife
This painting was done entirely with a palette knife. I made a sculpting compound using clear gesso and pumice which I used to mix with my paint. The clear gesso worked well, in that it didn't alter the color of the paint. There were some areas that became challenging eg eyes. If you have any questions, or wish to purchase, contact PAT. Crouching Tiger - Acrylic wildlife representational painting by Pennsylvania Painter Pat Koscienski
This painting was done from a photograph by Barb Benik for the February challenge on her studio atelier blogspot. I had gotten several photographs of this great cat at the Washington D.C. Zoo many years ago, but none as dramatic as this pose. I did alter the background of her photo. If you have any questons or wish to purchase, contact PAT. Stoney Creek - Acrylic palette knife impressionistic landscape painting by Pennsylvania Painter Pat Koscienski
This painting was done using a palette knife and acrylic paint with a moulding compound. It was inspired by a photograph I had taken one morning while painting at Stoney Creek in Dauphin, Pa. It was a steep decline from the parking area to the stream, but well worth the view. If you have any questions, or wish to purchase, contact PAT. Winter's Majesty - acrylic winter impressionistic representational palette knife landscape painting by Pennsylvania Painter Pat Koscienski
This painting was done for Gary Keimig's Wilderness Art Challenge. Gary took this photo of Togwotee Pass near Dubois, Wyoming. My computer monitor is showing the blue in my painting very bright and very blue. Again, I will attribute this to my camera. When getting the correct blue, my mountains "wash out". It is an acrylic painting done on board using a palette knife. If you have any questions or wish to purchase, please contact Pat.
