On the Precipice - Acrylic Abstract Cougar Painting by Pennsylvania Daily Painter Pat Koscienski
A painting of a cougar on the edge or brink of an unstable structure. Does it collapse? Will he jump? Will it all remain stable? Definitely a need to make some decisions. Do we sometimes find ourselves in this position? If you have any questions, contact Pat at patsfineart@hotmail.com

Lotus and Loosestrife - Impressionistic Acrylic Plein Aire Palette Knife Landscape by Pennsylvania Daily Painter Pat Koscienski
8" x 10"
Acrylic
I was painting at Wildwood Wetlands on Wednesday with our group, the Susquehanna Valley Plein Air Painters, to try to get the yellow lotus and purple loosestrife before they make their exit for the year. I tried another palette knife piece, a little larger this time. I'd like to go even larger, but don't know about how to handle the amount of paint I would have to put out. A lot of interested people stop to talk, and acrylics can dry on you fast, especially when there is a breeze. I've tried using the wet palette, but that can liquify my paint and I want the full body consistency for the knife work. "Double Trouble" - Acrylic Contemporary Modern Still Life of Pears by Pennsylvania Daily Painter Pat Koscienski
Golden Haze - Acrylic Nonobjective Abstract by Pennsylvania Daily Painter Pat Koscienski
Golden Haze is a painting that I have posted before. However, there are 3 receptions today; I have posted the one "Winery by the Woods" Soiree being held at Hunters Valley Winery today from 5 -8:00 pm in Liverpool, PA. The Golden Haze painting will be showing at the Art & Soul Gallery at the West Shore Farmer's Market in Lemoyne, PA for the month of August. Some interesting or maybe amusing facts about this painting is that it was rejected twice by the York Art Association. Once, because it was 1" too large to meet the requirements of the prospectus and once because it was too small....it needed to be 36" or larger on all sides, and of course despite the fact that it is 49" on the one side, it is still only 24" in height. A lesson to all to carefully read the prospectus. It did take an award at the Harrisburg Art Association last year, so I was happy for that. If in the area, stop by to see Lyn O'Neal the new owner of Art and Soul and have a fun time at the reception today from 11am to 2pm. Trout Run Wetlands - Acrylic Palette Knife Impressionistic Plein Air Landscape by Pennsylvania Daily Painter Pat Koscienski
This painting was done plein air at Trout Run Wetlands off Stumpstown Road in Mechanicsburg, PA. It was one of those "hot" days and the humidity and air was thick, even in the morning. Sycamores & Wild Irises - Acrylic Plein Air Landscape Wildwood Wetlands by Pennsylvania Daily Painter Pat Koscienski
This painting was done plein air at Wildwood Sanctuary off Industrial Road, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The wild irises were in bloom; the water lilies were just starting to think about opening. I couldn't help zeroing in on the bark on the sycamores and the wild yellow irises that sat around the tree trunks at the water's edge. Morning's Glow - Impressionistic Animal Landscape Oil Painting by Pennsylvania Daily Painter Pat Koscienski
This painting will be on exhibit the month of July in the Charley Krone Gallery located on the 2nd floor of the New Cumberland Library. This is one of 26 paintings for my "Animals, Birds, and Butterflies" Exhibit. I thought it would be interesting to gather and exhibit my animal paintings, whether they are the main subject of the painting, or just included in the painting. This is a landscape painting inspired by painting plein air on a sheep farm in York, Pennsylvania. The painting needed some punch, so gave it a "morning glow". If in the area, stop in and visit the exhibit. Again, it is located on the 2nd floor of the New Cumberland Library, 1 Benjamin Plaza, New Cumberland, PA.
