"Winter at Rockville Bridge" by Pennsylvania Daily Painter Pat Koscienski

"Winter at Rockville Bridge"
14" x 18"
Oil on canvas
"Winter at Rockville Bridge" was painted in the studio from a photograph taken on the west shore of the Susquehanna River looking south. It was another snowy day that left a measurable amount of snow. The bit of sun shining through the arches gave a little warmth to the painting. This painting is exhibiting at CALC in Carlisle, PA . So pretty, Pat! Another of your PA artists did a beautiful green image of this bridge, maybe a bit further away than your view. It gives a neat feeling of seeing the two and they would be fabulous together! LOL As always, I am just loving your work!

Autumn, you have a good eye. Tatiana was almost standing where I was and looking across the river; I'm looking more south. She was summer, I was winter, now we just need to do spring and autumn. LOLOL

Nice, Pat! Arches are done very well and the most what I like here is a light. Just right. Just how it suppose to be.

Thanks, Tatiana, I don't usually do the bridge this close...the arches are a bugger to do. We will have to go there together and do spring and autumn...and then show them as "the four seasons". LOL

You've painted the winter light so beautifully, Pat. I really like this view of the bridge, and the fact that it is a winter scene.

Thanks, Claire, they say winter scenes don't sell. However, I still like painting them. Finding the colors in the snow are always fun.

Pat, it's beautiful! I've looked a long time. Awesome sky. The air is so crisp it made me take a deep breath! The trees - the texture of the snow - the light - the abstract qualities in the design! Bravo!
