Grand Opening - Acrylic Floral Representational Impressionistic Tulip Painting by Pennsylvania Daily Painter Pat Koscienski

Grand Opening
10" x 8"
Mixed Media on Canvas

Grand Opening was painted for Lela Stankovic's Paint and Draw Together Challenge. A Tulip Portrait was the subject for May. The tulip itself was painted with acrylics and I used the new Atelier Interactive, but for the background I used inks. I wanted to keep the background dark, but still have some color and design. If you wish to see more tulip paintings, visit Lela's site at http://www.paintanddrawtogether.blogspot.com/ If you have any questions, or wish to see more of my works, both representational and abstract, visit my website at:

Silent Return - Acrylic Representational Wildlife Painting of a Bull Bison Buffalo by Pennsylvania Daily Painter Pat Koscienski

Silent Return

9" x 12"

Acrylic on Canvas
SOLD

Silent Return was painted for Gary Keimig's Wilderness Art Challenge. He photographed this bull bison (buffalo) at a buffalo range outside of Thermopolis, Wyoming. Gary's photograph was so good it showed a brand on this bull's hind quarter. What a thrill to get to paint this. Visit Gary's blogspot at http://www.wildernessartchallenge.blogspot.com/ to view more wildlife art.

Queen Anne's Lace - Acrylic Plein Aire Floral Landscape Painting by Pennsylvania Daily Painter Pat Koscienski

Queen Anne's Lace
12" x 6"
Acrylic on Canvas
Queen Anne's Lace was painted plein air along the Yellow Breeches Creek, McCormick Road, Lisburn, Pa. The Creek was so muddy from a rain the night before, that I had to pick a subject that didn't involve too much water. This made for a nice composition. Orris House Inn - Original Acrylic Small Town USA Plein Aire Painting by Pennsylvania Painter Pat Koscienski

Orris House Inn
14" x 11"
Acrylic on Canvas

This was painted plein air at the Orris House Inn Bed & Breakfast on 318 W. Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA. The owners, Barb and Kevin Jackson graciously invited our group to paint at their estate. The building is so complex I decided to paint a corner of their porch. The porch, rocking chair, & flag made a wonderful composition and reminded me of a scene from any small town, USA.
