"Winter Stream" by Pennsylvania Daily Painter Pat Koscienski

"Winter Stream"
18" x 24" matted & framed
Pastel
"Winter Stream" was done from a photo of a small, Pennysylvania stream off Hartzdale Drive in Camp Hill. The warm sunlight was bouncing of the tree trunks, giving some warmth to the day. Brrrrrrr! I can feel the cold here - your colors are wonderful. The glimpses of sunlight make this work fantastically!

Pat, I honestly think this is my far and away favorite of your pieces. I so love walking through the woods and finding the hidden treasures such as this stream. Trees, in all their seasons, are just God's masterpieces. Stunning, stunning work. It just speaks to my heart.

Thanks, Claire, winter snows and landscape can have beautiful colors. But, not as discernable from a photo as from life. Being there and photographing the area myself really helped.

I can hear the snow crunching as you walk through there, Autumn. This area WAS a "discovery". It's near a busy section and I would never have noticed it had it not been for my noticing several sheep on the hill across from this stream. I never did paint them yet.
