This painting is done from the same photo I used in "Forest's Secret Beauty". This, however, was done with brushes, much larger than I usually use, whereas "Forest's Secret Beauty" was done with a palette knife. As you can see, I try to make a painting "mine" no matter how often I paint it. I don't worry about painting each stone or spray of water where the photo shows it. Composition, color, and texture is what I strive for. I feel there is more energy in this painting than "Forest's Secret Beauty", maybe because of the looseness. However, "Forest's Secret Beauty" shows more texture. Which look do you prefer?

Beautiful painting, Pat! I think of the two, I prefer the last piece slightly more. I think it has more richness of depth to it but of course, what do I know?? LOL
I love the two paintings, Pat but I truly love "Forest's Secret Beauty" the palette knife adds so much texture to the water. You do very well using the knife. I'm still trying but failed a few times BUT I won't give up!!
