Splish Splash - original acrylic representational impressionistic painting of a bathing elephant by Pennsylvania Contemporary Artist Pat Koscienski

This painting was done in acrylic keeping with a limited palette of Viridian and Alizarin Crimson.  This painting has been juried into the Mechanicsburg Art Center School and Galleries 2014 Open Juried Exhibit.  Opening reception is Friday April 4th from 6 to 8pm at 18 Artcraft Drive, Mechanicsburg, Pa.   If in the area, hope to see you at the reception.  The exhibit will be on display until April 25, 2014.  If you have any questions or wish to purchase, contact PAT.  If you would like to see more of my paintings, both representational or abstract, please visit my website at:

This is an outstanding piece, Pat! Another favorite! I love the movement in this elephant! I wish I can see it in person!

Thanks, Hilda. I know that you visit the Carlisle area at times; MAC is only 5 miles from there. One day it may be in the stars. lol

How beautiful, Pat! I love the intimation of the alizarin crimson and the viridian stands well on its own in the water. I can almost hear this behemoth splashing towards me!

Thanks, Sherry. I did get a little looser and abstract with the water, which hopefully added to his weight and movement.
