Queen Anne's Lace - Acrylic Plein Aire Floral Landscape Painting by Pennsylvania Daily Painter Pat Koscienski

Queen Anne's Lace
12" x 6"
Acrylic on Canvas
Queen Anne's Lace was painted plein air along the Yellow Breeches Creek, McCormick Road, Lisburn, Pa. The Creek was so muddy from a rain the night before, that I had to pick a subject that didn't involve too much water. This made for a nice composition. This IS a nice composition, Pat. I love those touches of aqua in the ground in the background. Just lovely, as always! Your work is consistently gorgeous!

The whole painting has such a lovely light and airy feeling - just like the delicate blooms of the Queen Anne's Lace flower. Beautiful, Pat!

Autumn, the aquas were that little bit of clear water I saw in that muddy creek. Sometimes painting what we want to see, rather than what we do see, makes for a nicer painting. LOL

Claire, thanks. Hopefully we will see some of that light and sun on Thursday at Katie's Stoney Creek Iris Farm. See you then.

I love the looseness and your palette for this painting. Autumn is right, your work is consistently gorgeous! I wish I lived closer to join you on your plein air excursions. There is a magnolia bloom outside calling my name—so beautiful. Thanks for the inspiration!

Carol, so wish we could paint together. Torrow is a visit to an iris farm at Stoney Creek Iris in Dauphin, Pa. And, the rain should be gone by then, and hopefully the sun will be up.

Love this palette! A different setting for Queen Anne's Lace - soft and dreamy! Can't wait to see what your post after a day at the Iris farm! Wish I could join you too!

Yesterday was a beautiful weather day. Katie had hundreds of different irises blooming. Almost hard to choose something to paint. I have some work yet to do on mine, and hopefully it will get posted.
