Morning Watch - Original Acrylic Impressionistic Landscape Seascape Coastal Painting With Sea Gulls by Pennsylvania Artist Pat Koscienski

Morning Watch

10" x 8"

Acrylic on Canvas

This painting is an acrylic painting done with a palette knife on stretched canvas. It was done from a photo of the Maine coastal shore given to me by a teacher who visited the area while on sabatical. Doing it with a palette knife vs a brush helped me keep it more painterly. A flock of sea gulls lined the edge of the cliff as if waiting to see the sun rise. If you have any questions, or wish to purchase, contact Pat. Gosh, Pat! This is another beauty and I am surprised to read that you did this with a palette knife. I so love sea scenes!

Maine is one of my favorite places, Pat - you have captured the rugged majesty of the place. Fantastic!

Thanks, Autumn. It was fun painting this one.

Thanks, Claire. I think the knife helped develop the ruggedness.

I really like the way you handled this; from the edginess and ragged rocks to the gulls, the scene is beautiful.

I like the texture you were able to achieve with the palette knife in this painting Pat.

Thank you for the nice comment you left on my blog!
