"Sparkling Water" was painted plein air at Pinchot State Park. The morning started off a little overcast, but soon turned into a need for the sun umbrella. I wanted to capture the sunlight bouncing off the water and the canoe in an "impressionistic" manner, using small dabs of paint. The acrylic paint dried quickly, but using a wet palette kept the paint workable for a long time with little spritzing needed.
