"Autumn Morning" by Pat Koscienski

"Autumn Morning"
Oil on canvas
8" x 10"
With autumn here and leaves in Pennsylvania starting to change color, I thought I would post some of my autmun paintings from past years. "Autumn Morning" was inspired by my drive home....driving down Pleasantville Road approaching Benyou's barn. The light was hitting like the light in a John Baptiste Camille Corot's painting....dark in the foreground and light in the midground....directing attention to this area. As I drove, I snapped a digital picture and this is the resulting painting. If interested in purchasing, contact me at patsfineart@hotmail.com If interested in seeing more of my paintings, representational and abstract, visit my website at http://www.patkoscienski.com/

Pat, this made me suck in my breath at the beautiful autumn colors! My favorite season and you have captured such a pretty slice of it! So lovely!

Thanks, Tatiana, I know what you mean. Those leaves are so short-lived that you can blink and they are gone. Hopefully, we will have a couple of good days to paint out.

Pat, this is so beautiful! I'm so glad we are here in the mountains enjoying the color! You have inspired me to get outside and paint! Autumn Morning captures the season and the moment!

Autumn, this is my favorite season also. Hopefully, I will get some new ones painted this year. Thank you for all your complementary comments.

Thanks, Rosemary, painting plein air isn't the easiest for me, but to smell the air and leaves can really inspire some of my paintings. Hope it lasts awhile. Make sure you post that painting.

The light in this painting is positively radiant, Pat. Sure hope we have some beautiful leaf color this year!

Thanks, Claire. It looks like we may get rained out tomorrow. I'll keep my fingers crossed that it clears by noon.

Gives me a little pang of homesick for some maple leaves turning color. Beautiful painting.

Thanks, Leslie. That's one of the benefits of a four season state, however, I'll bet you don't shovel snow in the winter.

Thanks, Silvia, you must get some good fall foliage also. They are calling for 10-12" of snow in northern PA today; I may be painting snow before fall foliage. Hopefully, I'm far enough south of that storm.
