Crouching Tiger - Acrylic wildlife representational painting by Pennsylvania Painter Pat Koscienski

"Crouching Tiger"
28" x 22"
Acrylic on canvas

This painting was done from a photograph by Barb Benik for the February challenge on her studio atelier blogspot. I had gotten several photographs of this great cat at the Washington D.C. Zoo many years ago, but none as dramatic as this pose. I did alter the background of her photo. If you have any questons or wish to purchase, contact PAT. Pat, this is truly beautiful! For years, I suffered from nightmares in which I was being stalked by various varieties of the big cats, always waking up just before they pounced. This was a common pose that I would see. Glad it is a painting and not reality! LOL The colors of his coat are spot on beautiful!

Oh, Sherry, I sure hope this doesn't bring back any of those nightmares; they must have been horrible. Remember, this is a nice "putty cat".

Love the work in this Pat. The realism is wonderful - love the background you did on this also.

Your tiger is strikingly like life, it gives me the idea to try it, but..
Bravo, Pat!

Pat, this is so much better than the photograph. There's an element of mystery surrounding the tiger in the way you've handled the background. He is beautiful.
