Sycamores & Wild Irises - Acrylic Plein Air Landscape Wildwood Wetlands by Pennsylvania Daily Painter Pat Koscienski

Sycamores & Wild Irises
12" & 6"
Acrylic

This painting was done plein air at Wildwood Sanctuary off Industrial Road, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The wild irises were in bloom; the water lilies were just starting to think about opening. I couldn't help zeroing in on the bark on the sycamores and the wild yellow irises that sat around the tree trunks at the water's edge. Absolutely beautiful, Pat. I find that any painting with overall tones of either blue or green are paintings that just immediately draw me in and make me never want to leave. This is one such painting!

Autumn, Thank you so much for your wonderful comment that never got posted. As I was signing in with google, it somehow got unpublished. I didn't want you to think I rejected it... I have to remember to sign in before I go flitting around the blogspots, because I seem to have problems, otherwise.

This is magnificent, Pat. Your structure and volume of the sycamore gives it a great sense of presence.

Thanks, Claire. I did try to focus on the trees.

What a terrific & evocative painting!! I feel as though I am there staring through the branches down to the water.
