This painting was done using a palette knife and acrylic paint with a moulding compound. It was inspired by a photograph I had taken one morning while painting at Stoney Creek in Dauphin, Pa. It was a steep decline from the parking area to the stream, but well worth the view. If you have any questions, or wish to purchase, contact PAT. Wow! Pat! You captured the beauty of this place. A gorgeous painting!! I love the light hitting the tree and the reflections in the water!
Very nice landscape, Pat!I like the turquoise color of the water.
So magnificent and what a sense of tranquility that emanates from this painting! Absolutely beautiful, Pat! I've never been to Walden's Pond (which this piece gives rise to in my head), but I now have stirrings of remembering reading Thoreau in high school...
Thanks, everyone. I really worked hard on trying to get some grays in the painting. I was trying to get the light on the tree and water to "pop" more. Not quite sure I achieved the "pop".
This is stunning, Pat. What gorgeous color and distance - makes me want to be there! This is really beautiful!
Another beauty, Pat. Love, love the light- it's dancing off the leaves and skipping throughout until my eye rests on the tranquil water - great job with the grays! It "pops" for me!
Such a beautiful scene! Great work, I love it all.
